Friend, here's something that took me years to understand: the gap you feel isn't a lack of faith. The safety your spirit knows is true, your body has simply never learned to feel.

Made to Dwell is a gentle, 4-week somatic healing program that you move through at your own pace. Each day there is a short practice that cues your body towards safety, gentle nervous system education, a scripture for each day and a simple prayer. A few minutes is all it takes.
There's no right or wrong way to do these practices. Just a small, repeatable rhythm that teaches your nervous system, day by day, that it's finally safe to come out of survival.

Why you can't think your way to safe
Safety doesn't live in your thoughts. It lives in your body... in your nervous system, underneath words and belief.
Beneath your awareness, your body is always scanning, asking one question: am I safe right now? It's called neuroception, and it answers before you ever have a conscious thought. When something overwhelmed you, your nervous system learned to answer "no"... to brace, to stay ready, to protect you.
And when your body is braced like that, the thinking, believing part of your brain actually goes quiet. It comes offline. So when you're told to "just trust God," your mind may hear it... but your body never gets the message. Not because your faith is weak. Because the alarm is stored somewhere words can't reach.
This is why somatic healing is different. Instead of talking about safety, it gives your nervous system small, repeated experiences of actually being safe. Through felt experience rather than information, your body slowly updates... learning, a little at a time, that it's safe to come out of survival.

Week 1
Orienting to Safety
Your body begins to learn the cues that tell it it's safe to soften. This is the exhale you've been holding for years.

Knowing Your Body
You start to learn the language of your own nervous system... and discover God meets you tenderly in every state, even the hard ones.
Curiosity. “Oh — this makes sense.”

Your Tools
You build a handful of simple, real practices you can carry into actual life... the grocery line, the hard conversation, the sleepless night. They become yours.

Coming Home
You gather it all up and learn to carry it forward... coming home to your body, and to God, again and again.

We can only heal at the depth we feel safe.
Safety isn't the reward you get at the end of healing. It's the ground healing grows from.
You can't rest, or receive, while your nervous system is convinced it's under threat. And it can be hard to feel close to God there, too. Not because He isn't near, but because the part of your brain that senses His nearness goes offline when your body thinks it's fighting for its life.
That's why we don't start by trying harder. We start with safety. Gently, in little amounts at a time... a process called titration, which is how the nervous system heals and expands its capacity without collapsing back in.

It's also not therapy, and it's not a quick trick. It won't do the deep, one-on-one processing of your story... that's tender work for a different setting. Made to Dwell is here to teach your body the felt sense of safety, which is exactly where all of that deeper healing has to begin. It's a companion to good care, never a replacement for it.

Hi, I'm Lacey
I'm a Christ-centered somatic practitioner with a Master's in Biblical Counseling.
I spent most of my life in survival, and truly felt that my trauma responses were my personality and just who I was. I came to this work through my own systemic collapse and my own healing journey with God. I now get to walk women from survival to safety for a living. My hope is to offer you a pathway to meet your own humanity with compassion... and to find real freedom in knowing that your dysregulation is not disobedience, and that by simply supporting your physiology, you'll be better able to embody your faith.
